Cherokee County law enforcement agents arrested a Sand Rock man on domestic violence charges following an incident on Cherokee County Road 48 Wednesday morning, Oct. 12. Because of the location's proximity to Sand Rock School, the school was closed for a period as a precautionary measure.
Arrested, according to records from the Cherokee County Detention Center, was Jr. Donald Voyles, 25, who was charged with domestic violence in the third degree, resisitng arrest, terrorist threat and unlawful imprisonment.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said deputies responded to the report around 7:30 a.m. The location is approximately one mile from the school. Law enforcement agents advised school personnel to put the lockdown in place.'

The lockdown, which lasted around 20 minues, ended around 7:50 a.m., reports said. .
Voyles was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he remains awaiting a bond hearing.
