A Cedar Bluff, Alabama, man is now charged with murder after a woman died from injuries resulting from a May 13 fire.
Aaron Rochester, 50, is now charged with capital murder as well as first-degree arson. Police say Rochester assaulted 50-year-old Donna Marable before he set their home on fire with her inside and then fled. He was arrested 2 days later on May 15.
Marable was taken to the Cedar Bluff football field, where she was airlifted to Grady Medical Center’s burn unit in Atlanta where she died on May 18.
Rochester remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond for the arson charge and awaits a bond hearing on the new capital murder charge.
