GADSDEN, Alabama -- Etowah County officials today announced the arrest of seven people on various drug charges related to heroin distribution in the county, as agencies say they are seeing an alarming increase in drug overdoses.

Man fatally struck by train in Cartersville

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Sheriff's officials in northwest Georgia say a man has died after being struck by a train.

Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution 44-year-old Donald Eugene Brock was walking his dog along a set of train tracks when he was hit Saturday afternoon.

Millsap says the train sounded its horn several times but Brock didn't move.

Authorities say the man's body was taken to the Cartersville Medical Center and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will conduct an autopsy.
