Mr. James Dwight Parker, 63, of Piedmont passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service for Mr. Parker will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Brother David Weaver and Derek Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 - 3 p.m..

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Parker of Piedmont; daughter, Danielle McIntyre (Daniel) of Jacksonville; son, Derek Parker (Candi) of Piedmont; three grandchildren; four chosen grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Parker and Ricky Parker both of Piedmont; one sister, Violet Hairrell (Danny) of Piedmont; his mother-in-law, Betty Kelley of Ellisville; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mr. Parker was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was employed at Garcy Corporation for 30+ years, was a member of Real Truth Ministry and loved antique cars and car shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Ruth Parker and his father-in-law, Herman Kelley.
