An FBI dog team was called to Cherokee County, Alabama, on Saturday to help search for more evidence after a man was arrested a week ago on murder charges, according to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver.
Meanwhile, inmate Terry Lee McKinney, 63, of Cedar Bluff, has been transferred to the Etowah County Detention Facility. McKinney uses a wheelchair, and the other facility is better equipped to accommodate his special needs, Shaver reported.
McKinney was arrested March 29 after authorities found severed body parts along a county road, sheriff’s officials said.
He has been charged with murder. Family members have identified the victim as Leroy Foster, 60, of Leesburg.
The FBI dogs were called in to search for evidence Saturday along Ala. 273 and County Road 47. Members of the Tucker’s Chapel Volunteer Fire Department assisted officers from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Major Crimes Task Force as the investigation continues.
