Powell and Sylvania Police officers arrested a mother and son on drug charges recently while serving felony warrants on other charges.
According to a press release from Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, officers went to a residence on County Road 572 to serve felony warrants on Justin Tyler Jackson, 25 of Rainsville, for Escape in the third degree and failure to appear. When they arrived at the residence, they saw drugs in plain sight. The DeKalb County Investigators were called to the scene.
As a result Jackson and his mother, Gloria Patterson, 40, of Rainsville were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, the press release stated.
Sheriff Harris says “Thanks to the Powell and Sylvania Police Departments for continuing to work with us and made these arrest possible.”
