Little River Canyon bat house building workshop

Little River Canyon National Preserve is hosting a free bat house building workshop on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Pre-cut kits will be available to construct during two different workshops: 10:00-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.

These houses meet Bat Conservation International requirements and they are supplied by Robert and Cecilia Ball of HabitatForBats.org, who will also be instructing the workshop. They will supply the kits and tools needed to build your own house, as well as send you home with instructions on how to install and enjoy your new bat dwelling. Please, only one box per family in order to allow others to enjoy this opportunity.

If you love bats and the benefits they provide, then this is the workshop for you. Spaces are limited, so sign up fast by calling Preserve Headquarters at (256)845-9605 or emailing mary_shew@nps.gov.

Park Acting Superintendent Kim Kirk and Canyon Center Director Pete Conroy invite you to sign up and enjoy this free workshop.
