MONTGOMERY - Spring Garden junior pitcher Kerstin Bryant is known for her heroics in the circle, but she can also swing a big bat as well.

Bryant homered twice, including a walk-off grand slam, in sixth-ranked Spring Garden's 15-4 victory over No. 4 Marion County in a Class 1A state softball tournament elimination game at Lagoon Park on Friday.

Bryant had a 3-run shot in the fourth in addition to her grand slam in the fifth. Both homers were to left center field.

Payton McGinnis went 3-for-4 with a triple,a double and two RBIs for the Lady Panthers (29-17). Macy Reedy was 2-for-3 with a walk. Payton Traffanstedt singled and walked. Charley Grissom, Neely Welsh and Kylie-Grace Wood each had a hit for the Lady Panthers.

Bryant earned the win in the circle. She scattered four runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Brooke Webb suffered the loss for the Red Raiders. Madison Stewart led Marion County at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a double.

Spring Garden advances to face second-ranked Sumiton Christian on Friday at noon.
