NGAC Basketball: LaFayette claims home sweep against county foes

The LaFayette Middle School Lady Ramblers scored the final five points of the game and moved to 3-3 overall with a 38-33 home win over Rossville on Tuesday night.

Macey Gregg had 15 points, six steals, and a pair of rebounds in the loss. Makenzie Howard went for eight points, three rebounds, and three steals. Kelci Sparks had five points, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Rachel Atchley scored four points and grabbed three rebounds, while Johnna Silmon had 11 rebounds off the bench for Rossville (2-5).

Individual statistics for LaFayette were not available as of press time.

The Ramblers (5-1) completed the sweep with a 54-28 victory, pulling away in the fourth quarter after outscoring the Bulldogs, 20-7.

Alex Kelehear had a huge night, hitting six 3-pointers and finishing with 26 points to go with five steals. Dee Southern had 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Jon Morgan drained three treys and finishing with 13 points.

Jordan Tucker had seven points and Shawn Wilson six for Rossville (3-4).

LaFayette will host Trion on Thursday, while Rossville will play at Ringgold in the final games before the Christmas holidays.
