The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Toyo Tires recruit a number of workers for its manufacturing facility in Bartow County. The company, which produces tires for vehicles, is recruiting manufacturing and maintenance technicians.

The recruitment will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gordon County Parks and Recreation Center, 7494 Fairmount Highway, S.E., Calhoun.

Due to federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. They must also have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED). Applicants with military experience, technical or college education, or a Georgia Work Ready Certificate are encouraged to apply.

Job seekers who apply for the maintenance technician jobs must have at least two years of experience using Programmable Logistic Controllers (PLC) in a working environment. Those who apply for the manufacturing technician jobs must have at least one year of work experience.

Applicants must bring a resume, complete a company application, and provide Work Ready credentials. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.

Job seekers who have applied with the company in the past year are still being considered for employment and do not have to re-apply.
