The Georgia Department of Labor is conducting an on-going recruitment to help Roper Corporation, a division of GE, fill 80 manufacturing jobs at its facility in LaFayette.

The company is recruiting workers for a production line to assemble kitchen ranges on eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The hours will be set by the employer. While the jobs are temporary, they may lead to full-time positions with the company.

Former military personnel or college students on summer break in Walker, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade and Whitfield counties in north Georgia or Chattanooga, Tenn., are encouraged to apply.

Due to federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) is required.

To apply for the jobs, applicants must complete a company application at the GDOL’s LaFayette Career Center, 200 West Villanow St. They are encouraged to bring a resume or work history to aid in completing the application. The career center’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The company will conduct a background check and a drug-screening test.

For more information about the recruitment, contact the LaFayette Career Center at (706) 638-5525.
