The Al Millard Memorial Stocking Full of Love in Walker County proved a success again. About 1,400 needy children will get a little something special for Christmas.

The snow didn't deter volunteers and organizers of Stocking Full of Love from working to bring Christmas cheer to needy children on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga.

According to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson, the non-profit organization plans to serve around 1,400 children for the 2017 holiday season.

Volunteers worked until 1:30 a.m. Saturday for the Toy Store set up and returned at 7 a.m. for the Toy Store Giveaway.

One couple, Ronda and Chris Pryor, worked not-stop beginning Friday evening, Dec. 8. The reason they do it? Ronda said, "the kids." Wilson said the Toy Store remained open until every family in attendance was served.

Ronda is treasurer of the organization.

"It's another good year with plenty of donations coming in, so we are able to serve all of these children. It's just another great Christmas," Wilson said.
