Catoosa County sheriff's detectives are investigating a vehicle theft, in which a van was stolen from the garage of a house in Ringgold.

The incident occurred on White Eagle Trail in Ringgold sometime between 4 a.m. and 9:46 a.m. on Aug. 12.

According to Cpl. George Wooten, the victim woke up to find both of his garage doors open and his black 2012 Toyota Sienna van missing from inside the garage.

In addition to the theft of the Sienna, the family's 2014 Ford F-150 located in the driveway had been rummaged through with approximately $50 in cash and the garage door opener missing.

The victim told police that he had surveillance footage of the incident from around the outside of the house.

"The victim said he checked the footage and that both garage doors were closed at approximately 4:25," Cpl. Wooten said. "At 4:30, one garage door was open, and at 4:35, both doors were opened."

The victim admitted that the truck in the driveway was left unlocked and that the van inside the garage had the keys inside of it.

The van has two stickers in the back windshield; "McCallie" in red, and "Bright Schools" in green, reports show.

As a precaution, extra patrol was placed in the neighborhood following the incident.

Anyone with information about the theft or the location of the vehicle is encouraged to contact detective Mike Tinker at the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department at 706-935-2424.
