Catoosa County sheriff's detectives are investigating the theft of a U-Haul trailer that occurred in broad daylight from a Rossville business, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred just after noon on Nov. 24 at the Pack Rat Self Storage facility on Cloud Springs Road.

An employee called police after a man came to the facility, hooked up a tow haul trailer, and then drove away with it.

"The employee stated a newer four-door white Chevrolet truck pulled into the lot and went to where the trailers were parked," Deputy Rebecca Jordan said.

The employee said a white male in his 50s with white hair exited the truck and hooked the trailer up to a hitch extension before speeding away from the lot.

"The employee said that she had not seen the man or the truck before," Jordan said.

Anyone with information about the missing trailer, or the suspect in the truck is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department at 796-935-2424.
