Catoosa County sheriff's detectives are investigating two residential burglaries that occurred in the southern portion of the county.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, a residence in the 3000 block of Houston Valley Road in Ringgold was burglarized sometime between April 14 and 16, followed by a similar incident on Edwards Lane in Tunnel Hill the following day.

In the first incident, a .9-mm handgun and some jewelry were stolen from the residence. The victim arrived home to find the back door kicked in.

A neighbor reported seeing a suspicious gold- or light-colored Chevrolet Malibu or Lumina near the home on April 15.

In the second burglary, the burglar made off with video game systems, a laptop computer, flat screen TV, and assorted costume jewelry.

The victim and deputies observed forced-entry into the home.
