Catoosa County sheriff's detectives are investigating a residential burglary in Tunnel Hill that occurred Halloween night while the family was out trick-or-treating, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred in the 1100 block of Keys Road in Tunnel Hill sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 8:00 a.m. Nov. 1.

The victim told police the family went trick-or-treating Halloween night and wound up staying overnight at a relative's house only to arrive home the following morning to find they'd been robbed.

Multiple guitars, jewelry, a video gaming system, laptop, and a lock box safe were stolen during the incident, reports show.

A pill bottle containing approximately 70 Xanax pills was also reported stolen.

The victim couldn't provide police with any serial number information for the stolen property, but did inform deputies and detectives that the family had been having issues with neighbors.

"The victim said she has been recently having problems with her neighbors because they have been stealing their water from a spigot on the side of the house," deputy Carmi Smith said.

Anyone with information about incident or the stolen property is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department at 706-935-2424.
