The LaFayette Ramblers went 5-0 and won the Cedartown Duals on Saturday at Cedartown High School.
LaFayette picked up wins over Cedartown (60-24), Murray County (57-24), Rockmart (45-35), Model (66-17) and North Murray (76-6) to claim the title.
Tyler Beard and Cody Deal both went 5-0 with five pins, while Michael Wallin was 5-0 with four pins and a forfeit victory. Avery Sullivan was 4-0 with four pins. Brady Beard was 4-1 with four pins. Landon Plank and Cameron Hollingsworth were both 4-1 with two pins and two forfeits.
Karson Ledford and Carson Lanier both had three wins with three pins. Hector Velez and Hunter Deal each had three wins. Deal recorded two pins, while Velez had one.
Mason Alexander and David Patterson both had two wins by pin, while Bryce Blackmon had two wins with one pin. J.J. Muder had one pin, while Jake Price and Steven Sanford each won a match via a decision.
Heritage second at Westminster
The Generals were still missing three starters, but managed to go 4-1 at the Westminster Duals in Atlanta and take home the runner-up trophy.
Heritage handled Marist (58-22), Perry (45-27), St. Pius X (66-16) and Westminster (60-21), but lost to Adairsville (45-36) in the finals.
Garret Stephens was 5-0 with five pins, while Spencer Davies and Ryan Craft was 5-0 with four pins. Seth Ingle was 5-0 and recorded three pins. Ian Burgett (three pins), Drake Parker (two pins) and Zach Brown (one pin) were each 4-1 on the day.
Hank Powell went 3-0. Jayden Norton had three wins with one pin and Alex Eacret picked up three wins with two pins. Colton Mullins, Nathan Boatman, Garett Pennington and Josh Brock each had one win.
LFO also competed at Westminster and went 1-4 and their five matches.
Forced to give up 30 points due to forfeits in five different weight classes, LFO lost to Westminster (42-30), Adairsville (48-36), Pace Academy (45-30) and Marist (39-36). Their lone win came against St Pius X (48-23).
Green wins in Ooltewah for Ringgold
The Ringgold Tigers traveled north to compete at the Ooltewah Invitational on Saturday.
Griffin Green (152 pounds) won his weight class and was named as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. Holden Moss (138) and Trevor Milling (145) were both second, while Braden Milling (113) finished fourth.
Panthers compete in Jackson County
Ridgeland's Mat Panthers traveled to Jackson County in Georgia to take on a tough field on Saturday.
Chris Prescott (126) was fourth, Ryan McGill (182) was fifth and Garrett Romans (106) placed sixth. Preston Perrault, Hunter Smith, Anthony Woodard and Ethan Morgan also wrestled well for Ridgeland, according to head coach Keith Mariakis.
Gordon Lee goes 2-2 at Chattooga
At the Northwest Georgia Duals, the Trojans finished with a 2-2 record in the five-team event.
Gordon Lee defeated Armuchee (42-39) and Cartersville (48-34), while falling to Chattooga (42-40) and Arab, Ala. (49-24).
Jarrett Lassetter (160) and Braden Jarvis (170) both went 4-0, while Hunter Burnette (106), Nathan Hundley (120), Avery Geer (138) and Logan Butler (152) were all 3-1.
