The Oakwood Christian Eagles took on two different opponents at Rossville City Park on Saturday, but surrendered big innings in both games and dropped both ends of the doubleheader.

The Oakwood Christian Lady Eagles finally broke through with their first softball win in school history Tuesday night and did so in style as they blanked Howard of Chattanooga, 14-0, in a game at Rossville City Park.

The Oakwood Christian Eagles had to move Monday's season opener with Rhea County Academy to Dayton, Tenn. due to unplayable field conditions at home, and it turned out to be an even longer drive back as the Eagles dropped an 11-1 decision in five innings.

After two seasons of creating and building its softball program, the Oakwood Christian High School Lady Eagles hope that this is the season when they take that next step.

The Oakwood Christian Eagles came into their Southern Christian Athletic Association semifinal game favored as the higher-seeded team. However, OCA would be facing not one, but two opponents during Friday night's game.

The Oakwood Christian Eagles said thank-you to seven seniors on Tuesday night and those seven seniors were rewarded with a 66-52 home victory over Cleveland Christian in the home and regular season finale in Chickamauga.

One night after seeing a six-game winning streak snapped, the Oakwood Christian Eagles began a new winning streak on Friday with a 57-44 home win over Liberty Christian School.
