Ridgeland Panthers

For the first time in school history, the Ridgeland Panthers have completed an unbeaten regular season.

The second-ranked Panthers ran the table in style with a 49-0 shellacking of visiting Southeast Whitfield Friday night at Bowers and Painter Field.

Now 10-0, Ridgeland will host Chapel Hill - the No. 4 seed from a tough Region 5 - in next week's first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs. Should they win, the Panthers would then play host to either White County or Jefferson in round two on Nov. 17.

No further details were available as of press time.
