The eighth-ranked LaFayette Lady Ramblers ended the regular season on Tuesday night, setting what is believed to be a school-record for regular season wins with a sweep of Ringgold and Christian Heritage in Catoosa County.
LaFayette handled the host Lady Tigers, 25-19 and 25-18, behind nine kills, three aces and six digs from Jillian Morgan. Gracie Stier had four kills, four aces and three digs. Katie Dixon finished with four kills and seven digs, while Bailey Tarvin added four aces and eight digs.
Sarah Ray picked up four kills, while Emily Redden had 19 assists.
In the nightcap, the Lady Ramblers improved to 37-10 with a 25-7, 25-18 win over the Lady Lions.
Redden had five digs and 18 assists as she surpassed 1,000 assists for her high school career. Morgan collected nine kills, two blocks and two aces. Stier had seven aces and five digs, followed by Dixon with eight kills and four digs. Morgan passed the 300 kill mark for the season, while Dixon eclipsed 200 kills this season.
LaFayette, the No. 2 seed in the 6-AAAA tournament, will host No. 7 Gilmer in a first-round match at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The remainder of the tournament will be played at Ridgeland, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
