The LaFayette Lady Ramblers and Ringgold Tigers emerged victorious from a three-team meet at LaFayette High School this past Thursday.
LaFayette won the girls' meet with 63 points with Ringgold (52) taking second place. Dade County (15) was a distant third.
Dominique Southern won both the 100 (13.36) and the long jump (15-0.5) for the Lady Ramblers. Tailor Harris took top honors in the triple jump (30-2.5), Rachel Graham took first in the 400 (1:06.75) and LaFayette also won the 4x100 relay (54.31).
Ringgold had a pair of multiple winners in Annabelle Duckett (100 hurdles, 17.31; 300 hurdles, 55.53) and Lane Cates (800, 2:49; 1600, 6:15). Zoey Butler won the 200 (29.60), Morgan Allen took first in the high jump (4-10) and the 4x400 relay team also scored first-place points (4:51.52).
Cassie Higdon won the shot put (27-8) and the discus (N/A) for Dade County, while Taylor Warren took first in the 3200 (13:54).
In the boys' meet, the Tigers won eight events and collected 61 points to edge out LaFayette (56) for the win. The Wolverines (29) were third.
Jared Dunn won the high jump (5-4) and the 110 hurdles (18:15) for Ringgold, while other winners from Ringgold included Nicholas Parker (800, 2:16), Pete Brower (200, 23:62), Joey Collins (400, 56.78), Jamie Basham (3200, 12:23) and the 4x100 (45.46) and 4x400 (3:54) relay teams.
For LaFayette, Mason King won the shot put (32-10) and the discus (N/A), while Dakota Cathey took first in the long jump (20-2) and the 100 (11.70). Latrail McClinic won the triple jump (41-1.5).
Morgan Bonner won the 1600 (5:29) for the Wolverines and Noah Roberts won the 300 hurdles (45.97).
