Heritage Generals

The Heritage Lady Generals won eight events to claim victory in a three-team home meet on Tuesday, while the Generals took first in nine events to pick up the win on the boys’ side.

Heritage’s girls finished with 89 points to hold off Gordon Lee (69) for the win. Ridgeland (23.5) was third.

Taiya Ford won the 100 (13.10) and the 200 (28.49) for the home team. The other multiple event winner was Raleigh Lewis, who easily swept the shot put (30-11) and discus (114-0).

Other winners for the Navy-and-Red included Ana Driskell in the 1600 (6:45), Alex Gass in the 3200 (13:49), Madelyn Thompson in the 100 hurdles (16.61) and the 4x100 “A” relay team (52.88).

Gracie O’Neal won both the 400 (1:04) and the 800 (2:30) for the Lady Trojans, while freshman Kaylee Brown took the top spot in the high jump (5-1) and the pole vault (9-0). Taylor Hunley claimed victory in the 300 hurdles (52.15), while the 4x400 “A” relay team also won (4:49).

The lone win for the Lady Panthers was turned in by Ciera Foster in the long jump (15-9).

On the boys’ side, Heritage pulled away with 116.67 points to easily outdistance Ridgeland (43.33) and Gordon Lee (41).

Damian Weekly swept the 110 hurdles (16.87) and the 300 hurdles (43.56), while Lavarius Hood won the shot put (43-4 1/2) and the discus (128-9 1/2).

Also picking up first place points were Ryan Carter in the 200 (23.52), Cameron Evans in the 400 (55.38), Caleb Boyd in the 800 (2:14), Chandler Hill in the high jump (6-0) and the 4x400 “A” relay team (3:53).

Ridgeland’s winners included Torrance Roberts in the long jump (19-6) and the triple jump (38-9 1/4), A’zavier Blackwell in the 100 (10.97) and the 4x100 “A” relay team (44.80).

Jasper Wilson won the 1600 for Gordon Lee (5:00). Jake Lee race to a win in the 3200 (11:16) and Jagger Martin won the pole vault (11-0).
