LFO Warriors

The LFO Lady Warriors had their final tune-up before next week's Region 6-AAA tournament by playing two more games at Grayson High School on Saturday.

Grayson 13, LFO 6

The Rams, the fifth-ranked team in Class AAAAAAA put up nine runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase a 6-4 deficit.

Kourtney Morrison homered and knocked in two in the loss. Taylor Phillips had two hits. Jerrian Jackson doubled and had two RBIs, while Keelie Mauk and Jessica Coates both added one RBI.

Jennifer Coates allowed 11 earned runs on 16 hits in 4.2 innings as she took the loss.

LFO 4, Columbus 0

The Lady Warriors ended Saturday on a high note, shutting out the Class AAAA Blue Devils behind a five-hitter from Morrison, who walked just one and struck out six in seven innings.

Shaniyah Jones had two hits, including a double, scored twice and knocked in two runs. Chelsey Lindsay had one RBI for the Lady Warriors.

LFO (16-10) will host Haralson County in the first round of the Region 6-AAA tournament The best-of-three will begin with a doubleheader on Tuesday. Game 1 is slated for 4:30 p.m.
