The Heritage Generals closed out the regular season in style on Thursday with a 15-1, 13-0 sweep of a doubleheader at Southeast Whitfield.
In the opener, Heritage collected 12 hits and took advantage of six Lady Raider errors. They led 3-1 going into the bottom of the third when they erupted for 12 runs.
Madi Morris was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored, while Katie Proctor was 2-for-3 with a homer, an RBI and two runs scored. Ansley Bice was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Bailey Christol had two RBIs, while Kaylie Frogge and Morgan Phillips both had one RBI.
Taelyn Bates allowed just two hits and two walks with two strikeouts. The run she gave up was unearned.
In the nightcap, Morris and Proctor both homered once more and combined for nine RBIs in a 13-0 drubbing.
Morris was 3-for-3, scored twice and drove in five, while Proctors scored twice and knocked in four. Christol was a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored. Frogge went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Ashley Faulkenberry had a double and two RBIs, while Bice was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Morris pitched all four innings, giving up one hit and one walk with five strikeouts.
Heritage (16-8, 7-5) will play next week in the Region 6-AAAA tournament at Heritage Point Park in Dalton. They are slated to face Gilmer in the first round on Monday, starting at 5 p.m.
