A busy week next week for high school softball teams in Catoosa and Walker Counties will conclude with a pair of early-season tournaments over the weekend.

The Dalton Lady Cat Invitational will feature Heritage, LaFayette and Ridgeland among others and will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday at Heritage Point Park off the Dalton Bypass.

The Lady Generals will take on Dalton at 5 that afternoon before facing Shaw at 6:45. They will begin again at 10 a.m. Saturday versus Calhoun before battling Chattahoochee at 11:45. Heritage will end the weekend with a 5 p.m. game against Sonoraville.

LaFayette will open at 5 on Friday against Sonoraville before a 6:45 contest against Gordon Central. Their Saturday will start at 10 against Adairsville and conclude with a 1:30 game against Darlington.

Ridgeland will also play twice on Friday evening, at 5 versus Rome and at 6:45 against Calhoun. On Saturday, the Lady Panthers will face North Murray at 1:30 and Shaw at 3:15.

Closer to home, Jack Mattox will host the LFO Invitational. This year's field will include Gordon Lee, Ringgold and the host Lady Warriors.

Gordon Lee will take on Gilmer at 4 p.m., while Ringgold will open with Dade County at 4. The Lady Trojans and Lady Tigers will square off at 6.

LFO will also play twice on Friday, against Bremen at 6 and against Gilmer at 8.

On Saturday, Gordon Lee will take on Marist at 9 a.m. and LFO at 11. Ringgold will battle Rockmart at 9 and Bremen at 1 p.m, while LFO will conclude with a 1 p.m. game against Dade County.
