In Rossville, the Lady Panthers (0-2) took a 1-0 lead on a Katie Carruth goal in the eighth minute of the match. However, the visiting Lady Raiders would score twice in the first half to take the lead at intermission.

Southeast Whitfield boys 4, Ridgeland 0

The Raiders (2-0-1, 1-0) would score three minutes into the contest and again before the end of the half. Southeast, the defending Class 4A state champions, would tack on a goal midway through the second half and added their fourth in the final minute of play.

"We fought really well for 80 minutes," Panthers head coach Tim Sparks said. "(Southeast) controlled the bulk of the game with possession and outshot us by a large margin, but we were organized and even created a handful of legitimate scoring chances. They are once again a great team and we have a lot of work to do."
