The LaFayette Ramblers and Lady Ramblers both opened the 2018 soccer season on Thursday with a pair of road shutouts at Chattooga.
The Lady Ramblers got things going with a 3-0 victory behind two goals from Bailey Tarvin. The first came on a picture-perfect throw-in from Shelby Adkins, while Kailee Queen assisted on the second goal. Queen would find the net herself in the middle of the second half to wrap up the scoring.
Railee Lynn and Gracie Hess split time in goal and combined for the clean sheet for LaFayette (1-0).
In the nightcap, Swiss exchange student Toby Aggeler made his presence felt with a hat trick as the Ramblers dominated the Indians, 6-0.
Ben McDaniel, Matthew Newsom and Ethan Kennedy also had goals for the Ramblers (1-0). Newsom added a pair of assists, while Luke Tarvin also had an assist.
LaFayette outshot Chattooga, 32-2. Jett Harrison recorded one save in goal for the Ramblers.
LaFayette will host Trion in a doubleheader on Feb. 15, starting at 5 p.m.
