The LaFayette High School JROTC Rifle Team is now 6-0 in Area 10 after winning three relays at home on Saturday.
LaFayette opened with a 1,124-1,103 win over Cherokee. Emma Sargeant scored a 290 (out of 300), followed by Alyssa Kiser with a 282, Steven Thompson with a 279 and Logan Massingill with a 273. Andrew Carroll and Troy Mussared finished with competition scores of 266 and 265, but only the top four scores count in the team total.
Next, against Etowah's Air Force ROTC team, the Ramblers claimed a 1,121-939 victory as Sargeant fired a 288. Kiser put up a 284 with Massingill (275) and Thompson (274) rounding out the team total.
Mussared (265) and Alaina Shults (240) also shot for LaFayette.
The younger shooters got into the action in a 1,107-868 win over the Sonoraville Army ROTC team.
Kiser had a 289 to pace the team. Freshman Christopher Franklin was next with an individual season high of 278, followed by Massingill (271) and Mussared (269).
LaFayette's next match is at home against Gordon Central's Army JROTC this Thursday (Feb. 1).
