The Saddle Ridge JV boys' basketball team picked up a 30-27 home victory over Gordon Lee on Monday night. Saddle Ridge led 9-6 after the first quarter, lost the lead by halftime, but regained it for good in the third period.

Teddy Ownby paced the Mustangs with 11 points, while Braeden Holland was 3 of 4 at the free throw line and finished with seven. Christian Howard (5), Nick Green (4) and Landen Morgan (2) rounded out the scoring.

Gordon Lee JV girls 21, Saddle Ridge 20

The Lady Trojans led 9-4 after the first period, but were held to just two points in the second quarter as Saddle Ridge pulled within two, 11-9. It was a one-point game to begin the fourth quarter and the Lady Mustangs took a 20-19 lead on a Lexi Baker jumper with 43 seconds to play.

However, Mila Smith and Meredith Jones would each connect on a free throw in the closing seconds to allow the Lady Trojans to pull out the narrow win.

Sam Cramer was leading scorer for Saddle Ridge with 13 points, followed by Haven Yancy's four points. Baker finished with two and Sara Pendley added one.
