Jake Poindexter had another huge night for the Gordon Lee Trojans on Thursday night and the Navy-and-White needed all 30 of his points to hold off the visiting Trion Bulldogs, 44-33, in a an NGAC contest.

Poindexter was 11-of-18 from the field and 8-of-11 from the free throw line. He also added 11 rebounds in the victory.

Gordon Lee (8-2) stretched out their advantage 10 midway through the fourth quarter and Trion never got closer than seven the rest of the way, although the Trojans could never truly pull away.

Brody Cobb finished with eight points. Henry Ellis added four points and 10 boards and Will Carswell added two points.

Heritage boys 54, LaFayette 45

The Ramblers lost for just the third time this season, but two of those losses have come at the hands of the Generals.

LaFayette closed out the first half with a 14-5 run to break a 13-13 tie and take a 27-18 lead at halftime. However, the home team would outscore LaFayette in the third quarter, 17-4, as they took a 35-31 lead entering the final seven minutes of play.

Heritage would pull away from there as they went on to the win, dropping LaFayette to 7-3 overall (7-2 in league play) in the process.

Aidan Hadaway had 16 points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist for the Ramblers. Junior Barber finished with 10 points and three rebounds. Jalen Suttle had nine points, four rebounds and two steals, while Cam Porter added eight points, five rebounds and a pair of blocks. Jaylon Ramsey chipped in with two points, three steals, two assist and one rebound.

Both Gordon Lee and LaFayette will play in the Christian Heritage tournament in Dalton, starting on Friday.

Ringgold boys 45, Saddle Ridge 33

The Tigers fought back from a first-quarter deficit to take an 11-point lead at intermission. They would hold the lead the rest of the way in order to pick up the league win.

Chris Bell was 7-of-12 from the free throw line and paced the Mustangs (0-10) with 19 points. Ethan Kruger and Brady Mullaly both had four points, while Scott Smith - seeing his first action since recovering from a broken arm early in the season, hit his lone 3-point attempt of the night to finish with three points.

Ringgold JV boys 42, Saddle Ridge 12

In Ringgold, Nick Green led the Mustangs with five points, followed by Teddy Ownby with four and Austin Fitzpatrick with three.

Saddle Ridge girls 47, Ringgold 34

The Lady Mustangs will take a five-game winning streak into the Christmas break after pulling away in the second half to beat visiting Ringgold.

With the victory, Saddle Ridge (7-3 overall, 6-3 in league play) avenged an early-season loss to the Lady Tigers. The Lady Mustangs had a narrow 24-20 lead at intermission, but would enjoy a 23-14 advantage in the second half.

LaTyah Barber turned in yet another double-double with 22 points and 10 boards to go with seven steals. Mykeria Johnson chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Grace Hamilton had three points on a clutch trey and picked up three steals and two boards.

Also contributing for Saddle Ridge were Ashlyn Jenkins, Haley Stahl, Madi Ashley and Sam Cramer, who all had two points apiece. Imani Cook, Anna Grace Gilreath and Abby Sansing also played well for the Mustangs.

Ringgold JV girls 38, Saddle Ridge 17

In Ringgold, the Lady Mustangs finished their season with a 5-5 record. Ashlynn McConathy led Saddle Ridge with six points and five rebounds, while Lexi Baker added four points and six rebounds.

Lakeview girls 32, Chattanooga Valley 23

The Lady Eagles dropped to 4-5 overall after a road loss to the Lady Warriors on Thursday. CVMS hurt itself in the opening period it they failed to score. They trailed 19-6 at halftime and put on a rally in the second half, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

Emma McGraw had eight points for the Lady Eagles. Annabel Hill added six rebounds, while Dasia Watkins collected five boards.

Gordon Lee JV girls 17, Trion 9

The Lady Trojans picked up the win behind four points each from Allie Farrow and Kayleigh Ellis. Kaitlyn Wagoner had three, while Carly Deck and Cora Mount both had two.

Aubrey Burke had three points for the Lady Bulldogs, while Bailey Smith, Anna Lee and Ransley Lawrence all had two.
