Oakwood Christian Eagles

The Oakwood Christian Middle School soccer team is one win away from another ISC championship.

The unbeaten Eagles moved to 9-0 with a 5-0 win over Silverdale Baptist in the semifinals on Tuesday. Tomo Gilchrist had four goals, while Hunter Hickman found the net once. Price Ray and John McDonough combined for another shutout in net.

“Silverdale played extremely hard and played well,” OCA head coach Tony Vona said. “It was a tough struggle and a very hard game. We had to work extra hard to contain their midfield. But in the end we outworked and (out) played them. Our whole team got minutes and touches on the ball. This gives us great momentum heading into the finals this Thursday.”

The Eagles will host Boyd-Buchanan in the title game. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m.
