Eighth grader Mykeria Johnson celebrated Eighth Grade Night at Saddle Ridge on Tuesday with 15 points, six steals, two rebounds and two blocks in a 38-32 win over scrappy LaFayette.
Another eighth grader, Samantha Cramer, stepped up with eight points, eight rebounds, six steals and a block. FanTasja Barber chipped in with seven points, four boards and two steals.
Also contributing in the win was Lexi Baker with four points and eight boards and Vianca Segarra and Haven Yancy with two points each. Saddle Ridge is now 8-6 overall and 6-6 in league play.
Heather Tucker had 15 points to pace the Lady Ramblers, followed by Haley Fisher with seven, Emma Baker and Abby Sansing with four and Michaela Baker with two.
In the boys' game, LaFayette took a 22-4 lead after the first quarter and went on to a 53-34 victory over the Mustangs.
Chase Landon paced the Ramblers with 10 points, followed by Jaylon Ramsey with eight. Cade Fisher and Aidan Hadaway picked up seven points each. Junior Barber and Jordan Kennerly each had six, followed by Gray Payton and Chase Dillinger with three, Kendall Culbreth with two and Dawson Pendergrass with one.
Saddle Ridge got a team-high nine points Brady Mullaly. Teddy Ownby added eight, while Christian Howard had seven. Will Snider's four points and three each by Nick Green and Austin Fitzpatrick capped the scoring for the Mustangs.
