Bouncing back from a tough loss last week, the Saddle Ridge Lady Mustangs picked up a 48-27 victory over Trion on Tuesday to improve to 4-2 on the season.
Mykeria Johnson had a monster night for the Navy-and-Red. She hit three 3-pointers and finished with 29 points, adding eight rebounds and four steals. FaTasja Barber had six points, six steals and five rebounds, while Samantha Cramer picked up six points, three rebounds and one steal.
Also aiding the cause was Haynie Gilstrap (2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), Carly Spurlock (2 points), Vianca Segarra (2 points) and Summer Burkett (1 point). Lexi Baker grabbed nine boards. Madison Sisemore had four and Sara Pendley pulled down two. Haven Yancy was also singled out for a strong defensive effort.
Saddle Ridge JV girls 19, Rossville 13
On Monday, the junior varsity Lady Mustangs earned their first win of the season. Barber paced the offense with seven points, followed by Aria Shirley with five, Pendley with four, Kiley Hubbard with two and Olivia Thomas with one.

Trion boys 50, Saddle Ridge 36
The Mustangs took a first-quarter lead and held a slim 19-18 lead hafltime advantage. However, a 23-point outburst by the Bulldogs in the third quarter would swing the momentum of the game to their side for good.
Braeden Holland had 14 points for the Mustangs (0-6). Teddy Ownby finished with 10, while Kevin Kremb and Jaiden Smith both had three points on one 3-pointer apiece. Will Snider accounted for the final two points..
Saddle Ridge JV boys 41, Rossville 40
In Rock Spring on Monday, the home team took a 38-21 lead into the fourth quarter and had to hang on for dear life to escape with the win.
Sixth grader Kaden Miller hit the front end of a one-and-one late in the game to provide the margin of victory. Nick Green had a team-high 17 points and added seven rebounds, while Cole Spears finished with 13 points, four steals and two boards.
Jaiden Smith scored seven points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked one shot. Matthew Fry added two points and five rebounds, while Miller and Marvin Johnson ended the night with one point each.
