Ringgold Tigers

The Ringgold Tigers and Lady Tigers both improved to 2-0 on the season with a sweep at Saddle Ridge on Thursday.

Ringgold girls 41, Saddle Ridge 23

Taylor Layne had a team-high 15 points, while Addi Broome and Baileigh Pitts had 10 each as the Lady Tigers led 20-10 at halftime en route to a victory in Rock Spring.

The Lady Mustangs (2-1) got 17 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, from Mykeria Johnson to go to four rebounds and three steals. Samantha Cramer had four points, three rebounds and a steal on the night. Haynie Gilstrap picked up two points, three boards and two steals, while Haven Yancy and Carly Spurlock were additional standouts.

Ringgold boys 47, Saddle Ridge 20

The Tigers got a full team effort in their win over the Mustangs. Individual statistics were not provided as of press time.

Braeden Holland led the Mustangs (0-3) with 11 points, followed by Kevin Kremb with five and Nick Green with four. Will Snider led Saddle Ridge in rebounds, while Austin Fitzpatrick and Holland added four steals each.

LaFayette boys 47, Dade County 26

The Ramblers opened the game on a 22-5 run, led 42-7 at intermission and coasted to a 47-26 win in Trenton.

Junior Barber had 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals to pace the Ramblers. Aidan Hadaway added 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals. Jaylon Ramsey picked up 10 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and three steals, while Cade Fisher had six points, 10 boards, four assists and three steals.

Grant Langford and Gray Payton added two points each, while Kobe Weaver, Chase Landon, Jordan Kennerly, Skylar Cepeda, Chase Dillinger, and Kendall Culbreath also contributed in the win.

Heritage girls 39, Chattanooga Valley 24

The Lady Eagles fell to 1-1 on the year with the road loss. Dasia Watkins led CVMS with 13 points. Annabel Hill added nine and Lexie Young chipped in with two. Jenna Morgan, Madison Bowman and Halie Thompson played solid defensive games.

Individual statistics for the Lady Generals (2-0) were not provided as of press time.

Heritage boys 39, Chattanooga Valley 25

The Generals (1-1) led 21-8 at the break and went on to their first win of the year. Kaden Swope led Heritage with 16 points, followed by Marcus Fortson with 12 and Ty Loveless with seven.

Izaac Bryant had five points for the Eagles (1-1). Amarreon Turner, Omari McCleary, Ashton Turner and Logan Montgomery had four points apiece.

Trion girls 28, Rossville 9

Rossville dropped to 0-2 on the year with the loss at home. Sierra Edwards and Makayla Cope had three points each, followed by Makayla Marsha with two and McKenzie Miller with one.

Rossville boys 60, Trion 27

The homestanding Bulldogs held a narrow 26-21 lead at intermission, but outscored Trion 30-8 in the second half.

Zack Harrison poured in a game-high 22 points, while Chris Maddeaux, Zion Irvin and Alex Renner added eight each as Rossville moved to 1-1 on the season.

Gordon Lee girls 33, Lakeview 30

The Lady Trojans led 15-14 at halftime, extended their advantage to 27-17 by the end of the third quarter and hung on for a three-point home win, their first of the year.

Emma McGraw had 14 points for Gordon Lee (1-1), followed by Macy Sharp with eight and Star Alexander with four.

Rachel Lopez had 17 points for the Lady Warriors (1-1) in the loss, while Christina Collins finished with four.
