The North Georgia Athletic Conference began tournament play at Trion on Saturday and the day would ultimately belong to Heritage's Marcus Fortson.

Fortson set a new school-record with 41 points as the Generals defeated Rossville, 69-40, in the opening round of the boys' game. Kaden Swope added 10 points in the win.

Chris Maddeaux had 10 points for the Bulldogs, followed by nine points from Zack Harrison on three 3-pointers.

Chattanooga Valley 48, Saddle Ridge 39

Lamarcus Bailey had 11 points as the Eagles staved off the upset bid. Logan Montgomery added seven points in the victory.

Teddy Ownby had 11 points to pace the Mustangs, followed by Brady Mullaly and Will Snider with seven points apiece.

Gordon Lee 30, Trion 23

The Trojans moved on to the semifinals behind 10 points from Garren Ramey and seven from Nate Dunfee.

Dade County 52, Ringgold 48

The Tigers came up four points short in the upset attempt of the No. 2 seeded Wolverines. Brandon Orman had 13 points for Ringgold, while Brent Bowman added 11.
