The Ringgold Middle School Tigers improved to 3-1 on the season by sweeping a doubleheader at Christian Heritage in Dalton on Saturday.
Ringgold took the opener, 6-4, thanks to two hits and three RBIs by Mason Parker. Ty Gilbert also had two hits. Brody Gann and Brent Bowman had one hit and one RBI each. Robbie Bates and Mason Burt also picked up solo hits, while Ross Norman had an RBI.
Hudson Chandler pitched three innings, allowing one earned run with one strikeout. Gilbert gave up three earned runs in two innings with three K's, while Bates did not allow an earned run in two innings of work. He fanned one in the win.
In Game 2, Ringgold trailed 7-0 through three innings, but scored twice in the fourth, three times in the fifth and four times in the seventh before plating two runs in the eighth to win it in extra innings, 12-9.
Parker again swung a big stick, racking up two hits and two RBIs. Bates and Bowman each had two hits and one RBI. Norman had a hit and drove in a run. Aiden Long also picked up an RBI, while Burt, Kyle White and Malachi Hill had one hit apiece.
Norman threw four innings, allowing one earned run and finishing with one strikeout against the Lions. Bowman and Burt each pitched two innings. Bowman gave up two earned and fanned one, while Burt gave up one earned run and struck out two batters.
Ringgold will begin NGAC play Tuesday at Seabolt Field with a 5 p.m. game against Rossville.
