The LFO Lady Warriors fell behind 18-6 in the opening quarter and never recovered as they dropped a 66-44 decision to Rhea County (Tenn.) in the Best of Preps tournament at Chattanooga State on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles took a 29-17 lead into intermission before putting the game away by outscoring LFO in the third quarter, 19-8. They also harassed the Lady Warriors into committing 26 turnovers during the game.
Three players finished with double figures for Rhea County, led by Mallory Hampton, who had a 19-point, 14-rebound double-double.
Macey Gregg had 19 points for LFO to go with seven rebounds. Maia Payne had nine points on three 3-pointers, while Anna Rountree and Jerriale Jackson added five points apiece.
LFO (5-7 overall) will play at 1 p.m. tomorrow in a consolation bracket game against Van Buren County.
