The Lady Warriors cranked up the defensive intensity in the second half and rallied to beat the Lady Eagles of Van Buren County, 48-34, in a consolation bracket game at the Best of Preps Tournament at Chattanooga State on Friday.
The Lady Eagles from Tennessee led 25-22 at halftime, but managed just nine points in the second half as LFO forced 22 turnovers, while committing just 12 of their own.
The Lady Warriors held Van Buren to just 24 percent shooting on the night and just 19 percent from behind the arc.
Macey Gregg had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists in the victory, while Anna Rountree added a career-high 16 points to go with four rebounds. Jerriale Jackson scored two points, but grabbed a team-best nine rebounds, while Jerrian Jackson had three points and seven rebounds.
LFO (6-7) will face Notre Dame in their final game of the tournament at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
