The Ringgold Lady Tigers bounced back from Thursday night's loss against Coffee County to beat the Lady Indians of Sequatchie County, 53-36, in a consolation bracket game at the Whitwell Christmas Tournament on Friday.
Ringgold took control in the opening half as they built a 33-20 advantage at the break.
Rachel Akers had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Tigers. Sidney Pittman had nine points and six assists, while Kaylee Womack also had nine points in the victory. Shelby Cole and Riley Nayadley each finished with six points. Nayadley pulled down a dozen boards and Lauren Terrell added two points and four steals.
Chloe Barger had 12 points for Sequatchie County.
Ringgold (7-5) play Lookout Valley in the fifth-place game back at Whitwell on Saturday, starting at 12 noon Central time.
