The Lady Bobcats of Georgia Northwestern had a busy last seven days with three matches, all on the road.
On Oct. 2, the Navy-and-Silver traveled to Dayton, Tenn. for a rematch with the Bryan College JV squad. However, Georgia Northwestern couldn’t avenge a late September loss to the Lady Lions, falling in four sets, 25-18, 25-10, 24-26 and 25-17.
Anna Schorle had a team-high nine kills to go with three aces and a block. Tori Hall had six kills for the Lady Bobcats to go with three digs and two aces. Jamese Miller finished with five kills and four blocks and Morgen Simmons had a dozen digs and an ace.
Kayleigh Goff collected two aces, two blocks and an ace. Mia Clark added three assists, two kills and a block. Shanna Burk had six assists and two digs. Jesse Owens finished with four digs, two assists and an ace, while Kaylin Graham collected five digs and a kill.
On Oct. 7, Georgia Northwestern made the drive to Gallatin, Tenn. to face Johnson University and Welch College in a tri-match at Welch.
The Lady Bobcats opened against Johnson, losing in straight sets, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-16.
Schorle once again paced the offense with six kills and added five blocks and an ace. Miller recorded three kills and four blocks, while Clark had four aces, five assists and a block. Goff filled up the stat sheet with three aces, two blocks, two kills and an assist.
Hall picked up two kills and two aces. Simmons had five digs and an ace. Burk finished with four assists and a kill, while Owens added an ace and a dig.
Georgia Northwestern ended the day with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-15 loss to the host Flames, despite four kills, two digs and an ace from Hall and six assists and a dig from Burk. Goff picked up three digs, two aces and a kill. Schorle had two kills, two aces and a block, while Clark added two kills and four assists.
Also contributing for the Lady Bobcats were Simmons (5 digs), Owens (3 digs) and Miller (1 kill).
Georgia Northwestern (0-13) is scheduled to play at Covenant College tonight (Oct. 9) against the Lady Scots JV team. GNTC swept two matches against the Covenant JV team a year ago.
The Lady Bobcats will travel to Powell, Tenn. just outside of Knoxville on Friday for a 7 p.m. match against The Crown College.
