A new era in Georgia Northwestern volleyball will begin later this month as the Lady Bobcats take the floor for the first time under new head coach Amber Weaver.
The Navy-and-Silver will open the 2017 season by hosting their own tournament for the first time. The Rumble in Rossville will be held Aug. 25-26 at the Rossville Athletic Center (R.A.C). The Lady Bobcats will welcome established Tennessee programs from Welch College, Hiwassee College and The Crown College, while the new volleyball program at Cleveland State Community College will be making its collegiate debut that weekend.
Following the Rumble in Rossville, Georgia Northwestern will be on the road for three straight matches. They will play ay Johnson University in Knoxville on Aug. 29 before joining Welch for a Sept. 9 tri-match at Judson College in Marion, Ala.
A Sept. 11 home match against neighboring Covenant College will kick off a four-match homestand to end the month. Judson comes to Rossville for a rematch on Sept. 21 and the Bryan College Lady Lions will face the Lady Bobcats on Sept. 28. GNTC will close out the month at home against Toccoa Falls College on Sept. 30.
The four home matches will be followed up with five straight road dates in October, including stops at Bryan (Oct. 2), Welch (Oct. 7), Covenant (Oct. 9), Crown (Oct. 13) and Cleveland State (Oct. 19).
The Lady Bobcats will have one final home date on Oct. 21 as they will welcome Pensacola Christian College and Andrew College (Ga.) to Rossville for a tri-match.
The regular season will end on Oct. 23 at Hiwassee and on Oct. 27 at Toccoa Falls.
