The Atlanta Journal and Constitution revealed its annual All-State football teams on Thursday and Ridgeland's Markeith Montgomery was named to the first team for Class AAAA as a defensive back for the second straight season.

Four other local players, Heritage wide receiver Luke Grant, Heritage linebacker Zaine Burton, Ridgeland running Jalyn Shelton and Ridgeland defensive lineman Derayl Helton were all named as honorable mention.

In Class AAA, Ringgold's Andre Tarver was named honorable mention as a wide receiver/linebacker, while Tigers’ quarterback Cole Kibler was also named to the honorable mention list.

Rome linebacker Adam Anderson was named as the AJC’s All-Classification Player of the Year.
