Ridgeland High School anglers Ryan Godsey and Dakota Harris currently sit in first place atop the points standings for the Northwest Georgia High School Anglers Association (NWGHSAA) through the first two tournaments.
The Panther duo, who won the opening tournament of the season on Lake Chickamauga at Chester Frost Park on Feb. 25 at 7.27 pounds, has 408 total points. Avry Thomason and Wesley Hagan of Christian Heritage is in second place at 402, followed by Gordon Lee's Luke Tinker and Henry Ellis (398).
The aptly-named Andrew and Conner Fisher of Calhoun (398) are fourth with Brody and Jordan Frazier of North Murray (395) rounding out the top 10.
Colby Chapman and Will Smith of Gordon Lee are sixth (389). The first Heritage team, David Kilgo and Josh Graves, check in at No. 11 (367). Gordon Lee's Hunter Richie and Blake Groce are 13th (359), while Gordon Lee's Hunter Robertson and Caleb Butcher are 20th (340) out of 157 teams in the league.
LaFayette's top team right now is Caleb Boyd and Bryson Giddy, who are 23rd with 339 points. The LFO team of Morgan Henshaw and Isaac Herpst are 44th with 229 points, while league newcomer Ringgold is currently seeing Brayden Milling and Caleb Brown lead with the way with 223 points, good enough for 49th place overall.
The NWGHSAA is the largest high school fishing organization in the nation.
