The Gordon Lee High School competition cheerleading squad are state champions once again.

The Navy-and-White made it back-to-back Class A Public School Division state crowns after winning at the Columbus Civic Center on Friday night.

It came down to a two-horse race between Gordon Lee and rival Trion, who has five state titles to its credit. In the end, Gordon Lee's winning margin was just two points (89.17-87.17). Nine-time state champion Commerce (68.00) was third, while Schley County (65.33) was fourth.

Mt. Paran Christian made it six state titles in a row in the Class A Private School Division, finishing with a score of 102.83 to easily claim victory. Brookstone (84.17) was second, followed by Savannah Christian (67.50) and Hebron Christian (65.33).

And in a tight battle in the All-Classification Co-Ed Division saw Milton (105.00) emerge as champions over Forsyth Central (104.00) , East Coweta (100.33) and Woodland-Cartersville (99.00).

The finals in Classes 2A-7A will be held on Saturday.
