The LaFayette Ramblers sunk nine 3-pointers, accounting for half of their points, in a thrilling 54-53 victory over Ringgold in the finals of the Whitwell Christmas Tournament on Saturday night.
Alex Kelehear hit 7-of-8 at the free throw line and had a game-high 21 points for LaFayette (13-1). Andrew Pendergrass finished with 10 points, followed by Jon Morgan with eight, Dee Southern with six, Tyrese Marsh with five and Stone Graham with four.
Logan Hullender had 12 points to pace Ringgold (10-3). Cade Nayadley added 11, followed by Corey Johnson with nine and Chandler Chastain with eight.
The Tigers will play on Tuesday at Gordon Lee, while the Ramblers will take back to the floor next Saturday at Coahulla Creek in a non-region game.
