The LFO Lady Warriors took another step closer to securing the Region 6-AAA North subregion championship on Saturday.
Milijah Williams' shot at the buzzer gave LFO (12-10, 6-4) a dramatic 37-36 home victory over North Murray. The Lady Mountaineers missed two separate times at the free throw line in the waning seconds, allowing Lady Warriors one final chance to win the game.
Macey Gregg had 22 points, putting her over 1,000 for her career. Anna Rountree chipped in with six points and five rebounds. Williams finished with five points, while Zarria Nelson and Jerrian Jackson each had two.
It was a case of deja vu in the nightcap as Warriors' senior Patryk Gilbert would bury a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift his team to a 53-30 win over the Mountaineers.
LFO hit four 3-pointers in the game, three of which came in the final quarter.
Gilbert finished with 18 points, followed by Ruddy Ware with 13, Jacob King with 10 and Jackson Herrod with seven.
LFO will travel to Sonoraville on Monday for region crossover make-up games. They will close out the regular season with subregion games at Murray County on Tuesday and at North Murray on Friday.
