The Ringgold Lady Tigers made it two straight wins over Region 6-AAA opponents with a solid 51-42 win over Bremen Tuesday night at Ringgold.
Ringgold held a slim 24-22 lead at the break, but slowly extended their advantage in the second half to move to 5-1 overall.
Kaylee Womack had 15 points for the Lady Tigers, followed by Rachel Akers with 14. Sydney Pittman, Lauren Terrell and Maggie Reed had five points each. Pittman added five assists. Riley Nayadley had five steals and Shelby Cole cleaned the glass for 10 rebounds.
Ashlynn Hodge had 13 points for the Lady Blue Devils, while Alyssa Taylor added 10.
Ringgold boys 66, Bremen 46
The Tigers improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 against region opposition with a 20-point win over the Blue Devils.
It was another balanced scoring night for the Tigers, led by 12 points and seven rebounds from Cade Nayadley and 12 points and seven boards by Ammon Murphy. Nate Nation had 10 points, followed by Corey Johnson (8), Chandler Chastain (7) and Jackson House (6), Blake Goldsmith scored five and added five assists and three steals.
Ridgeland swept by Northwest Whitfield
The Bruins and Lady Bruins were forced to move their home games to New Hope Middle School on Tuesday due to a leak in the Northwest gym's ceiling, but it didn't stop the Orange-and-Blue from sending Ridgeland back to Rossville with a pair of tough loss.
Northwest's girls claimed a 64-29 victory, while the Bruins led 43-16 at the half, en route to a 82-47 win. The Lady Panthers dropped to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in Region 6-AAAA play with the loss, while the Panthers fell to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in region action.
Makenzie Howard had eight points and five rebounds for the Lady Panthers. D'Erika Ervin and Hailey Bryant added five points apiece. Kia Wade finished with four points and two steals. Kristen May had four points. Brylee Dunn added two points, six rebounds and six blocks, while Haley Sandridge added one point.
Fred Norman had 12 points for the Panthers, followed by Chase Williams and Markeith Montgomery with nine each.
Gordon Lee splits with Darlington
The Lady Trojans picked up a "W" in their Region 6-A opener Tuesday night, beating the Lady Tigers, 56-47, in Chickamauga to go to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in region play.
Gordon Lee took a 28-13 lead at halftime and kept the Lady Tigers at arm's-length the rest of the way.
Faith Alexander had 18 points for the Navy-and-White. Gracie O'Neal and Katherine Grace McElhaney each dropped in 10, while Emma Minghini picked up nine points.
The Trojans (4-1, 0-1) were not as fortunate as they dropped a 55-41 decision. It was the first loss for the year for the Navy-and-White.
Jacob Dyer had 11 points for the Gordon Lee in the loss.
