The Ringgold Lady Tigers played even with state-ranked Northwest Whitfield for a quarter on Tuesday and trailed by just seven points at halftime. However, the Class AAAA Lady Bruins used a 51-point second half to establish control and score a 72-35 win in Ringgold.
Jada Griffin had 21 points for Northwest to lead all scorers.
Rachel Akers had 13 points in the loss for the Lady Tigers (3-1). Riley Nayadley added eight and Shelby Cole had six points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Lauren Terrell picked up four points, while Faith Bryson and Wendy Hamby scored two each.
In the nightcap, the Tigers moved to 4-0 with a 57-46 victory in the non-region affair.
Ringgold will be back at home on Friday to take on Adairsville in the first of five consecutive Region 6-AAA crossover games. Tip-off begins at 7 p.m.
