The Oakwood Christian Lady Eagles are now 7-2 overall after a 47-26 home win over Knoxville Christian on Friday.
Annika Green had 12 points and 17 rebounds in the victory. Lexie Asher added 11 points and nine boards, while Mary Ownby went for 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Also contributing in the win was Madi Phillips (6 points, 5 steals), Lily Green (4 points) and Grayson Broadrick (4 points).
In the nightcap, the Eagles led 37-29 going into the fourth quarter, looking to score their first win of the season.
However, the visiting Knights used a game-ending 16-4 run to steal the 45-41 victory. The lead changed hands several times in the closing minute before KCS hit two late free throws to ice the win,
Garrison Baggett had 11 points and eight rebounds before leaving the game in the third quarter with an injury. Tyler Epperson had six points and nine rebounds. Andrew Phillips finished with five points and seven boards, while Phillip Davis added five points and five rebounds.
Also contributing was John Jacob McSpadden (4 points, 3 rebounds), J.J. Lanham (5 points) and Trevor Hobbs (3 rebounds). The Eagles (0-9) had 35 rebounds as a team and went 12-of-16 from the free throw line.
Woody Hass (ankle) was again unavailable for the game.
