Oakwood Christian Eagles

The Oakwood Christian Eagles made it two straight wins with a 58-56 victory at Rhea County Academy on Thursday night.

OCA (5-14 overall, 2-4 in region) led virtually the whole game until an 8-0 run by the Warriors tied the score at 56 with a minute to play.

Phillip Davis would net what turned out to be the game-winner with 48 seconds remaining as the Eagles' defense came through with one final stand.

Garrison Baggett had a team-high 17 points in the win, followed by John Jacob McSpadden with 15 and Davis with 12. Tyler Epperson chipped in with nine points.

Oakwood girls 27, Rhea Co. Academy 18

In the girls' contest, the Lady Eagles ran their record to 14-5 after a low-scoring affair in Dayton.

Mary Ownby had eight points and five steals in the victory. Annika Green added seven points and dominated the glass with 14 rebounds to go with three steals.

Grayson Broadrick had five points, while four from Lexie Asher and three from Madi Phillips rounded out the scoring.
